Lately, I feel like all it does is rain! When it’s dreary, I tend to dress to match the weather. Today, I decided I would NOT put on black pants and instead I would think about spring coming up! I know a lot of people still have a hard time wrapping their minds around white jeans after Labor Day before Memorial day, but I’m sharing some looks with white jeans to begin the transition to spring.
- I love this sweater! I featured it on the blog here and on my Instagram with jeans and a button up striped shirt. I’ve always loved a navy and white combination and the floral pattern makes this top feel spring ready. It’s also so fun with the sequins!
2. To combat the old, “don’t wear white after Labor Day” pair it with neutrals. The white pants make the look brighter and give it a fresh vibe, but neutrals will allow you to have a comfortable balance. Also, you CANNOT go wrong with an army green jacket to throw on in the ever changing spring weather; it’s a great neutral and it is not as harsh as black.
3. Another great piece to incorporate when transitioning between seasons is an over sized cardigan. It will keep you warm like the jacket, but gives a more laid back feel. It will also be longer than most jackets and will cover your rump if you are a little apprehensive about sporting that TOOSHY in white jeans.
The REAL trick to feeling confident in your white jeans is the jeans themselves. My tips for buying them are: buy a thick, strong, non stretch jean pair that is not see through. Anything with too much stretch tends to cling. The thickness will help hold everything in and you won’t see every bump/curve of your leg. Think old school thick Levi’s, NOT leggings.
