As I was scrolling through my Instagram recently, I noticed I wear A LOT of black jeans. This is mostly because I can’t wear regular “jean” jeans to work and colored jeans, AKA black jeans, are considered “slacks.” So, when I was getting dressed this morning I thought I’d try something different. I bought these track pant-esque slacks from H&M in late January. I thought they were perfect because they aren’t tight, but are still form fitting, and they are comfortable enough to sit on the floor in. I like to look nice at work, but since I teach 6 years old, I don’t like to feel stuffy or over dressed. To dress these down some, I threw on an basic white t-shirt and some flat sandals. To re-wear this look later I can switch it up with a graphic tee or slightly looser fitting tank top to stay casual and cool in the warmer temps to come.
***These slim, but loose fitting pants really streamline your leg and the stripe down the side makes your legs appear narrower!
If your office is not as casual as mine LOL you can dress these pants up with a light material oxford and some open toed (or close toed) heels. I have my shirt sloppy tucked, but it works fine to do a full front tuck also.
***I WOULD suggest wearing some kind of heel or height with these pants to make your legs look longer. I tried rocking them with sneakers or vans at first and ended up feeling frumpy.

Unfortunately, my exact pants are no longer available, but these are very similar!
The weather is getting so nice and the spring is filling up with outdoor activities. I just recently purchased this Free People top and am ready for it to be just a hair warmer so I can wear it. I love that this top follows this crop trend, but is also long enough to cover my stomach. It also has a slight peplum which helps accentuate the narrowest part of your body. Since this shirt is low cut in the front and on the sides, I threw on a white v-neck camisole that stops shorter than the actual shirt to cover up a tad more. I also decided jeans would be better than shorts because I don’t want to feel too exposed. I’m sharing 3 looks with you all today. 1. daytime 2. day to night 3. bonus! Keep reading to find out what the bonus is!
***The trick to limiting mid-drift with a cropped style shirt is to pair it with high waisted bottoms. I have been wearing these jeans non stop since I got them. (You can check out more looks over on my Instagram!)
***On another note…the dog is making a cameo in some of these pics. LOL!
DAY TO NIGHT -just add a cute, heeled sandal in a nude color, leather jacket and fun clutch and you’re good to go!
BONUS! -this shirt is reversible! I think this white side will be great for summer activities
